Frida was nice and friendly as well as her assistant. Frida listened to me and attempted to make the highlights exactly the way I wanted. Work done fast and precisely in just 2 hours. Great value for the price.

Frida was great! I don't often run into stylists who instinctively know what to do with my hair. (Dry, natural curls can be tricky!) Frida took one look at mine and was totally unfazed, since she has natural curl herself. She gave me a great layered cut that works with any way I want to do my 'do. I asked her to straighten it out for me with the hairdryer and flat iron (like I always do when I get a cut, since it takes me forever to do it myself), but she did such a great job with the hair dryer and roller brush that no flat iron was necessary. My hair cut is great, and the blowout was straight and totally frizz-free without losing volume. Frida was quick, with confidently professional skills, and my hair looked and felt wonderful when I left. Just one caveat - she could be a little friendlier. Maybe she wasn't having the best day, but aside from the cut/style itself I didn't feel like she particularly cared whether or not I became a repeat client.

It was definitely a good experience. Frida was personable and so was her assistant. I left feeling really good about my hair. Looks ten times healthier than it did before. My concern going into the salon was that she was going to cut too much off in order to rid me of my split ends. Well, by the time she was done, I was more than pleased with the length of my hair. I will definitely go back to Frida and I reccomend her to anyone. Not to mention, the salon had such a good vibe. Very trendy look to it. I am a happy girl.

Frida is AMAZING! I told her that I wanted something easy to mange but flow-y and I wanted to feel pretty, and she knocked it out of the park in about 40 min. She is awesome and the salon is awesome. I think I've found my new hair home.

I bought a hair cut & color on Lifebooker and just crossed my fingers I would get a decent stylist. My hair has been sadly abused and neglected by my do-it-myself hair cuts & color, which if the truth be told, did not look so good. I went to Frida Mekari @ Dej Salon in Sherman Oaks and she is, after the magic she worked on my hair, now going to be referred to as, “The Hair Whisperer.” Frida color-corrected my naturally brown hair that I had accidentally turned black. It was just so dry and porous that when I tried to "save money" and do it myself, my hair soaked up all the color. Frida added highlights in the front and they came out so pretty. She also gave me a cut that I absolutely adore that works with my natural curl and makes it look thicker, fuller and healthier. And best of all, is easy to style. The result was that everyone who saw me later complimented me on my hair. Me! The girl who always wears it in a ponytail or hides it in a hat. I love what she did and the whole experience was wonderful. I found my HW* (see note above). Her assistant Amanda was also very knowledgeable and helpful with my hair and kept my coffee cup full all day (yes that is how long it took to “fix” my hair.). Lessons learned: do NOT try to save money doing hair self because in the long run it costs more to fix it then to maintain it. Lesson 2: go to a professional like Frida who can make anyone's hair look beautiful judging by what she did to mine! Really. Run don't walk to Frida!!
